HEATING VENTILATION AIR CONDITIONING MECHANIC

The primary purpose of this position is to install, maintain, repair, and modify large/complex Heating/Cooling systems (includes heating boilers, single fuel power boilers, steam heating boilers systems), ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems.

-Troubleshoots a variety of HVAC/R systems to include large commercial, industrial refrigeration, air conditioning systems and supporting equipment with complex problems and extensive repairs requiring judgment to locate malfunctions. - Installs, repairs, and maintains large commercial and industrial ventilation, refrigeration, air conditioning (AC), and cooling systems with complex problems and extensive repairs. Installs, modifies, overhauls, repairs, and maintains a variety of complex heating boilers and/or heating systems, single and multiple fuel power boilers, Steam heating boiler systems and associated auxiliary and pollution control equipment. - Plans, lays out and installs a variety of large complex commercial and industrial systems and supporting equipment used to condition air in warehouses, shops, hangars, and large office buildings from electrical/electronic wiring diagrams, schematics, technical orders, blueprints, drawings, electrical/plumbing codes, and work orders. - Performs essential and incidental electrical work to the maintenance and operation of HVAC/R and Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems. Applies knowledge of electrical characteristics to recognize indications of improper operation. Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC/R systems and electronic control systems to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly and assist with calibration. - Installs, modifies, overhauls, repairs, and maintains a variety of complex air compressor systems for low and high pressure applications, and associated drying equipment. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
