Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic - Lead

Work along the Mississippi River at the Port of New Orleans, one of the busiest trade gateways in the United States. Our maintenance team supports 24/7 cargo operations through a commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. As the Lead Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic, you will provide technical leadership while maintaining and troubleshooting the heavy equipment that keeps our terminal moving.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy mobile equipment (forklifts, cranes, loaders)
  • Schedule and track maintenance tasks using CMMS (Maximo)
  • Manage vendors and parts procurement as needed
  • Ensure safety and ISO/HSSE compliance in all activities
  • Mentor and support maintenance team members

What You Need to Succeed:

  • 5+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience; leadership experience is a plus
  • Strong skills in diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems diagnostics
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems (preferably Maximo)
  • Valid driver’s license; TWIC card required or ability to obtain
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergencies
