Hedging & Reinvestment Advisor
HilltopSecurities is looking to hire a Hedging & Reinvestment Advisor. The Hedging & Reinvestment Advisor is responsible for analyzing and structuring tax-exempt and taxable reinvestment and derivative transactions for an array of current and prospective public finance clients. This role is located in Downtown Dallas and is in office five days a week.
Essential Functions
- Investment Analysis: Assessing clients' financial goals, risk tolerance, and investment preferences to develop customized investment strategies that align with their objectives.
- Portfolio Management: Constructing and managing investment portfolios by selecting suitable securities, diversifying assets, and monitoring performance regularly. They may recommend adjustments or rebalancing to optimize portfolio returns.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with investments and borrowing. This involves analyzing market trends, conducting risk assessments, and implementing appropriate hedging strategies to safeguard against adverse market movements.
- Market Research: Staying up to date with financial markets, economic indicators, and industry trends. Conducting in-depth research and analysis to identify investment opportunities or potential risks.
- Client Communication: Building strong relationships with clients and providing ongoing communication and updates on portfolio performance. Responding to client inquiries, explaining investment strategies, and offering guidance on investment decisions.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensuring adherence to relevant regulatory guidelines and compliance standards in all reinvestment and hedging activities.
- Performance Monitoring: Regularly evaluating the performance of clients' investment portfolios, comparing against benchmarks, and providing performance reports to clients.
- Documentation: Maintaining internal databases for potential transactions, transactions in process and closed transactions, including preparing and sending client invoices, closing transcripts and interacting with internal accounting and finance personnel.
- Continuous Learning: Keeping abreast of new investment products, market dynamics, and industry best practices. Continuous professional development is crucial to provide clients with the most relevant and up-to-date advice.
Job Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, business, economics, engineering, finance, mathematics, or a related field
- Excellent quantitative skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong computer skills
- Experience and proficiency with the Microsoft suite
- Experience with DBC Finance software is a plus
- Experience with fixed income products and modeling is a plus
- Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively with others
- Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures
- Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace
- Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals
