Hip Hop Dance Instructor

Job Summary

The Hip Hop Dance Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, structured Hip Hop, K-pop, and Street Dance lessons to students of all ages. The role includes preparing students for performances and assessments, supporting artistic development, and undertaking operational, customer service, curriculum, and event-related duties as part of a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

A. Teaching & Programme Delivery

· Plan and deliver structured HipHop / Street Dance / K-pop classes aligned with Crestar’s curriculum and teaching standards.

· Conduct classes in accordance with HQ guidelines and approved lesson plans.

· Prepare and coach students for performances, showcases, examinations, and competitions.

· Engage parents through regular communication, progress updates, and parent-teacher meetings.

· Support Centre Operations personnel on dance-related matters, class execution, and student management.

B. Curriculum & Teacher Capability Development

· Contribute to curriculum enhancement and the development of training manuals.

· Provide feedback to HQ from classes and training assignments to support curriculum R&D.

· Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and capability-building of local and overseas instructors.

· Support the professional development of junior teachers through demonstrations and mentorship.

C. Operations & Customer Service

· Provide front-line customer service, including handling enquiries, feedback, and requests.

· Assist with registration, enrolment, scheduling, and administrative duties.

· Maintain accurate student records and take attendance.

· Communicate with parents regarding policies, events, and studio matters.

· Ensure the studio environment remains clean, safe, organised, and well-maintained.

· Assist marketing and outreach efforts, including social media content support, community events, and open houses.

D. Events & Projects

· Support or lead concerts, recitals, showcases, and competitions.

· Choreograph and prepare students for performances, including music selection, rehearsal coordination, and costume/prop planning.

· Participate in or lead special projects such as holiday camps and exchange programmes.

Job Requirements

A. Experience & Qualifications

· Proven experience teaching HipHop to children, teens, and adults.

· Strong background in Hip Hop /Street Dance training and performance.

· Track record in recognised competitions is an advantage.

· Diploma in Dance preferred but not required.

B. Skills & Competencies

· Strong knowledge of Hip Hop techniques, choreography, and performance practices.

· Ability to choreograph forvarious age groups and skill levels.

· Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

· Proficiency in MicrosoftPowerPoint, Excel, and Word for presentations, reporting, and data tracking.
