HIS Clerk
The Health Information Services (HIS) department is seeking a highly motivated and excellent clerk to join our Camberwell campus on a permanent full-time basis.
This position is Monday to Friday (38hours/week) during business hours from either 8am to 4:06pm or 8:30am to 4:36pm.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Scanning paper-based patient medical records using the BOSSnet Digital Medical Record system.
- Answering telephone enquiries.
- Responding to information requests in accordance with the department’s release of information guidelines.
- Collecting, scanning and re-directing mail.
- Performing general department administration duties as required
Position Description Inherent Requirements
To be successful in this role…
You will have:
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent time management and organisational skills in order to effectively coordinate the various processes and steps involved in the process
- Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner, and an ability to clearly and coherently convey relevant information to all stakeholders, both internal and external to Epworth
- Intermediate working knowledge of the Microsoft Outlook Suite (primarily Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office)
- A solid work ethic, and an ability to work autonomously within a team in order to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner
- Proven high attention to detail and diligence to ensure correct patient information is released at all times
- Flexibility in a changing work environment with an openness to changing processes and procedures
Desirable (non-essential):
- Previous experience in similar role
- Previous experience with a Patient Administration System (iPM, WebPAS, TrakCare) and a Scanned Medical Record (BOSSnet or CPF)
- Working knowledge of Medical Terminology
