The DCX Client Services – Home-Based Revenue & JIB Accounting Specialist role will support the accounting operations of a U.S.-based publicly traded energy company. Key responsibilities include processing and reviewing Joint Interest Billing (JIB) and revenue statements, maintaining accurate accounting records, and assisting with month-end and quarter-end close activities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Phase 1 – Core Responsibilities
- Retrieve and review Joint Interest Billing (JIB) and revenue statements from EnergyLink.
- Map JIB and revenue statement line items to the appropriate accounts and wells based on company guidelines.
- Upload coded statements into OGSYS while ensuring completeness and data accuracy.
- Perform reconciliations to validate uploaded amounts against source documentation.
- Identify discrepancies, missing statements, coding concerns, and exceptions for review by senior accounting personnel.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation and accounting records.
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information through accurate data entry, validation, and reconciliation.
Phase 2 – Expanded Responsibilities (Upon Demonstrated Proficiency)
- Support monthly and quarterly accounting close processes.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Review JIB and revenue activity to identify variances, missing activity, or operator charge discrepancies.
- Assist with reconciliation preparation and management reporting schedules.
- Communicate with operators regarding JIB and revenue statement inquiries and resolution.
- Support ad hoc accounting, finance, and reporting projects.
- Assist with process improvements and operational efficiencies within the accounting function.
Additional Responsibilities
- Protect organizational information through strict confidentiality practices.
- Support accounting team initiatives and special projects as assigned.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
- Oil and gas accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with JIB processing, revenue accounting, or working interest accounting is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting U.S.-based companies in a remote capacity is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Software Experience: EnergyLink, OGSYS, Aries, Similar upstream oil & gas accounting systems
Preferred Knowledge
- Joint Interest Billing (JIB) processing
- Revenue distribution statements
- Non-operated working interest accounting
- Oil & gas accounting principles
Certifications: CPA, CMA, or equivalent accounting certifications are a plus but not required.
