Position Overview
The Hospice Chaplain provides emotional, practical and/or spiritual guidance for patients and their families, meeting them where they are on their hospice journey. As part of the patient care team, chaplains support the unique needs of each patient, including visiting with patients and their families, coordinating with the clinical team and connecting them with community resources and services.
In the end-of-life planning have the privilege of is responsible for the provision of spiritual care services to patients and families/caregivers of St. Croix Hospice, either directly or through coordination of care with other spiritual counselors.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Demonstrated theological coursework required.
- If no degree, 5+ years of experience in a formal ministerial setting required.
- Ability to pass background, consumer report and drug test.
- Valid State Driver’s License, access to an automobile in good working order, automobile insurance in accordance with state and organizational requirements, and an acceptable driving record required.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, theology, or religious studies or equivalent theology degree preferred.
- Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (MDIV, MTS, ThM or equivalent theological degree) preferred.
- One or more unit(s) of Clinical Pastoral Education preferred.
