Summary of Host/Hostess Position:
The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting guests promptly upon arrival and welcoming them to their dining experience with warmth and professionalism. This role includes seating guests, presenting menus, and ensuring each interaction is friendly, timely, and aligned with our hospitality standards.
Licensing Requirements:
- Valid Food Handlers Certification
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival
- When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant
- When immediate seating is unavailable, record guest names and party sizes accurately
- Provide guests with estimated waiting time
- Notify guests by calling out their name and party size when tables become available
- Answer phone calls professionally, following hospitality standards
- Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible
- Seat guest based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations
- Upon seating guests, present menus and inform them of their assigned server’s name. Ensure tables are properly set, clean, and fully prepared, inspecting for completeness and presentation standards
- Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed
- Must maintain a clean service area
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return

- Excellent customer service and hospitality skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage guest wait lists and provide accurate wait time estimates
- Ability to multitask and stay organized and work efficiently in a fast paced environment
- Professional, friendly demeanor with guests and team members
- Ability to work effectively with servers, bussers, and management to ensure smooth restaurant operations
- Basic phone etiquette and customer service skills
