Host I View Wait Staff

Summary of Responsibilities:


The Host is the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This role manages reservations, seating arrangements, and guest inquiries to support a smooth flow of service and maximize the dining room’s efficiency.



Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Guest Greeting and Seating: Welcome guests upon arrival, confirm reservations, and guide them to their seats with care.
  • Reservation Management: Handle reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements to balance guest flow and optimize the guest experience.
  • Customer Service: Respond to guest inquiries, special requests, and provide menu or event information as needed.
  • Communication: Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to manage seating assignments and minimize wait times.
  • Monitor Dining Area: Maintain the appearance of the entrance and dining area, ensuring a tidy and inviting environment.
  • Additional Tasks: Assist in other areas as directed by management to enhance the overall guest experience.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Existing knowledge of food safety procedures is preferred.
  • Ability to stand for an entire shift.
  • Maintain a gracious, pleasant, and friendly attitude, while contributing to Team-based work.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Good physical condition is required.
  • Moderate exposure to physical risk.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.


Direct Reports:

  • This position directly reports to the Restaurant Manager.
