Position Summary:
The Housekeeper will be responsible for overall cleanliness of the facility and the homes on Cranes nest. If needed will assist in setting up/take down of furniture for special events
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Clean and maintain all visitor and public spaces, exhibit galleries, staff offices, meeting rooms, hallways, snack and common areas, auditorium, stairs, and elevators.
- Clean all windows, doors, mirrors, tables, walls, partitions, woodwork, metal work, and drinking fountains.
- Consistently vacuuming, sweeping and mopping throughout the day, or as needed.
- Clean and service all restrooms, sanitize toilet bowls, sinks and countertops, and replenish hand soap, toilet rolls, and paper towel dispensers.
- Dust railings, fans, window blinds, and light fixtures.
- Spot clean spills on carpets and tile, concrete floors.
- Remove trash and replace plastic liners in all trash receptacles.
- Pick up litter and other debris throughout the Museum facility and grounds.
- Properly require adequate cleaning supplies and equipment needed to complete jobs.
- Promptly report maintenance concerns, issues, or potential safety hazards to the Lead Housekeeper and/or Director of Facilities.
- Assist Facilities Department in certain projects as a team especially from the safety standpoint.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently. Must be physically flexible and able to bend and flex, both horizontally and vertically to reach for packages.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with all staff members, vendors, and visitors.
- Must be able to operate office equipment including fax machine, postage machine, and computer.
- Must be computer literate in the Windows environment and able to operate computer-based shipping/receiving software.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Clean and service all restrooms, sanitize toilet bowls, sinks and countertops, and replenish hand soap, toilet rolls, and paper towel dispensers.
Hours and Compensation:
- Monday through Friday, day shift, nights, weekends, and special events as needed
- Full-Time, Non-Exempt
- Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Location Requirements:
At the time of employment, employees are expected to be located within reasonable commuting distance of the museum. Commuting Distance means they are located in South Florida, and able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
