Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

About the Role
Checkoff Finance is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to align people strategies with business objectives across multiple business units. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic advisor to leadership, drive workforce effectiveness, and support organizational growth initiatives.

Responsibilities
• Partner with business leaders to provide strategic HR support and workforce solutions
• Drive performance management, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness initiatives
• Lead workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development programs
• Support change management and business transformation projects
• Manage employee relations and ensure compliance with labour laws and company policies
• Collaborate with recruitment teams to attract, onboard, and retain top talent
• Analyze HR metrics and workforce trends to support decision-making
• Coach managers and strengthen leadership capabilities
• Support compensation, benefits administration, and HR process improvements

Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field
• Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent) is an advantage
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a strategic HR or HRBP role
• Experience supporting multiple teams or business units
• Prior experience in financial services, fintech, lending, or related industry preferred
• Strong understanding of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices
• Excellent stakeholder management, analytical, and communication skills
• Must be willing to travel across business locations
