Human Resources Generalist
Job Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist will assist in supporting daily human resources operations and ensuring a positive teammate experience. This role handles a broad range of HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, maintaining electronic records, employee relations and performance management.
Essential Functions:
- Recruitment & Staffing: Managing job postings, screening resumes, interviewing candidates, and facilitating the onboarding process.
- Benefits & Payroll Support: Assisting with benefits administration & enrollment.
- Records Management: Maintaining accurate digital and physical personnel files.
- HRIS Maintenance: Utilizing Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to manage employee data.
- Assist with scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of the department.
- May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with the Short Service Teammate program, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts or acquires pre-employment checks and teammate eligibility verifications.
- Coordinates new hire orientation, onboarding and teammate recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, morale and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, teammates, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in teammate disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Attends career fairs, job expos, community employment events, and campus recruiting activities to promote the organization and build candidate pipelines.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
