IBMi/AS400 Developer

Job brief

We are looking for IBMi Developers to produce scalable software solutions. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As an IBMi Developer, you should be comfortable with coding languages, development frameworks, and integration with other applications. You should also be a team player with a knack for visual design and utility.

Responsibilities

• Work with the development team and product managers to ideate software solutions
• Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
• Writing clean, functional code
• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
  
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
• Validate software functionality and security

Must-Have Requirements

• 5 to 10 years of work experience in building applications using IBMi technologies.
  
• Experience developing scalable applications using ILE programming languages ( RPGLE & CLLE, COBOL/400)
• Familiarity with integration techniques on IBMi like MQ or Web-Services.
• Knowledge of DB2
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams using agile methodologies.
• Problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
  

Nice to Have Requirements

• Experience in using IBMi MQ.
• Experience in writing code using Rational for I.
• Experience in using Confluence/Jira/MiRO.
• Basic CICD Knowledge.
• Experience with test-driven development.
  

Note

The candidate must be open short-term / long-term travel to Johannesburg.
