Role Overview:
The Software Engineer (IAM) is a member of the Flutter UKI Security team, reporting to the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineering Manager.
The Software Engineer (IAM) is responsible for supporting and extending the IAM infrastructure, to ensure successful implementation of the Access Security strategy and implement controls to meet the Identity and Access Controls policy.
We are looking for a Software Engineer with Java experience to take on the challenge of automating Identity and Access Management activities. The role involves a mix of technical and programming skills, automation of business processes, and system maintenance. Identity and Access Management understanding is a big plus.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Work towards constructing and uplifting the technical framework and maintaining it
Estimate work with consideration for testing, integration, and context-specific requirements
Deliver and own solutions considering context, environment, and requirements
Have full accountability from requirements gathering through delivery
Help meeting delivery targets through proactive planning
Ensure quality, identify existing and potential issues and help resolve them
Break down work items into smaller, controllable chunks
Focus on core implementation tasks and fast incremental delivery
Engage with stakeholders to refine requirements, align on asks, track and monitor dependencies, unblock work and improve our team’s visibility
Review PRs from your colleagues with constructive feedback
Mentor junior colleagues and new joiners and help them grow in their role
Actively participate in team discussions by proposing topics and be involved in conversations
Ensure implementations work holistically (not just in isolation)
Understand how the team’s work fits in the bigger IAM ecosystem
Adapt implementation and testing to the particularities and context of the requirement and development environment capabilities
Leverage AI capabilities towards a faster delivery and work validation
Closely work with other engineers on implementation and testing directions
Update ticket status and communicate progress transparently
Raise any concerns related to workload, blockers, dependencies or timelines
Give constructive feedback to business and other stakeholders about areas to improve.
Technical
Develops and implements Java-based automation solutions for IAM processing including but not limited to Joiner, Mover, Leaver, application integrations, regular user access reviews
Owns the maintenance of Tomcat application server and Java based applications within Tomcat
Monitors Tomcat applications with an in-depth understanding of dashboarding monitoring and relevant tools
Proactively stays up to date with the latest software development and automation trends and informs their colleagues about them
Conduct thorough peer reviews
Proactively identifies and addresses issues with existing technical processes, quality and tools, and works towards resolving them
Supports new colleagues within the team with onboarding into the role (buddy)
Maintains blueprint and target infrastructure documentation with software engineers / solution architects
Supports the leadership and stakeholders in making design and technical decisions
Gets buy-in on technical decision-making and proposed designs
Mediates debates and discussions on tech choices related to identity security technology
Focuses on incremental and fast delivery
Is a subject matter expert in automation and software development
Drives risk-based access control technical improvements to ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements
Continuously seek to improve identity security processes and technologies
Agile
Understanding Agile practices – SCRUM/KANBAN.
Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required:
Technical skills
Good understanding of OOP with previous experience in one programming language (preferably Java)
Good understanding of Azure and AWS cloud technologies
Good understanding or experience with building applications around APIs
Disciplined, delivery driven and logical thinker, with the ability to draw conclusions from large and complex data sets
Good understanding of various IT processes and technologies (cloud, virtualization, databases, networking, software development)
General understanding of software development security best practices

Proficient level of spoken and written English (B2, C1) (fluency in English is necessary).

Understanding of Identity security technologies with a focus on SailPoint IIQ
Experience of developing API projects or extending existing tools using APIs
Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in Agile software delivery with demonstrable experience in writing clean code (preferably in Java), Agile practices and ways of working.
