Independent Living Skills Trainer (ILST)

Position Summary
Independent Living Skills Trainers develop services designed and directed at the development and maintenance of the program participant's ability to independently sustain themself physically, emotionally, and economically in the community. This position helps people who need help to learn physical, mental, social or financial skills due to a brain injury.
Responsibilities:
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- Assist clients with independent living tasks such as self-care, medication supervision, task completion, sensory motor skill building, mobility, socialization, benefits/resource coordination and household management.
- Maintain client care plan.
- Attend required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree + 1 year experience with individuals with disabilities OR
- Associate degree in social services/human relations + 2 years experience OR
- Enrollment in a related degree program + 3 years similar experience OR
- 4 years direct care experience with brain injury or cognitive disability in home, hospital, or rehab settings
Special Requirements:
- Access to a reliable automobile
- Valid Driver's License & clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Proof of personal vehicle insurance with 100,000/300,000 liability limits on the vehicle driven for work
