We are looking for a Mechanical Tradesperson to join our Reduction Maintenance team at New Zealand Aluminium Smelter (NZAS).
This is a great opportunity for a safety-focused and proactive tradesperson to work across a range of plant equipment in a structured maintenance environment. Working on a rotating R3 roster, you will support both planned and breakdown maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operations.
Based at Tiwai Point near Invercargill, this role offers a great lifestyle alongside a technically challenging environment.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working within a collaborative team in Reduction Maintenance, you will:
Complete planned and breakdown maintenance across plant equipment
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs within operational timeframes
Identify and implement improvement opportunities
Promote safe work practices and contribute to HSE initiatives
Manage your workload and act as a point of contact on jobs
Apply continuous improvement and defect elimination practices
About you
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Mechanical Fitter trade qualification or equivalent
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Solid problem-solving capability and adaptability
Commitment to continuous improvement
