Information Security and Network Engineer

Position: Information Security and Network Engineer

Location: Menlo Park, CA

Duration: 12 Months +

Rate: Open

Primary Responsibilities:

• Architect, implement and provide ongoing management of corporate and engineering networks for DSSD

• Facilitates and drives the design and implementation of enterprise IT infrastructure security, processes, standards and assessments

• Support and maintain DHCP, DNS and LDAP infrastructures

• Develop and maintain procedures and documentation

• Ensure all requests/tickets are handled in a timely fashion

• Identify areas of improvement, including follow-through to resolution

• Analyze performance metrics and anticipate future network capacity requirements

• Develop automated methods to mitigate and remediate network events

• Interface with Global Security Organization to design and implement viable solutions for engineering connectivity


Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of routing, switching and network security

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP v4/v6 and troubleshooting

• Strong interpersonal and communication (written/verbal) skills

• Able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision

• Hands on experience implementing and maintaining enterprise firewall, IDS and VPN deployments

• Customer service focused and a team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done

• Experience with single sign-on (SSO) technologies and LDAP

• Strong knowledge of DNS and DHCP

• Hands on experience in the installation and configuration of Linux and/or VMware vSphere environments

• Experience with OSPF, BGP, MPLS and/or VRFs

• Experience with layer 2 protocols such as LACP, VLAN, 802.1d/w/s, 802.11x

• Experience in wireless, mobile, infrastructure and/or application level vulnerability testing, remediation, risk assessment and auditing

• Off hour support/maintenance based on business requirements

Preferred:

• Python and/or Shell scripting skills

• CISSP, CISA, GIAC, SANS, CCIE certifications

• VOIP administration

• Knowledge of Mac OS client environments

• Experience in administering and securing Google Apps and AWS deployments

• Strong working knowledge of Arista, Aruba and/or Palo Alto Networks.


Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

• 5+ years security and/or networking administration experience in a heterogeneous environment
