Position Details

Position Title: Deputy Manager / Assistant Manager – Finance & Accounts

Role Overview

This role is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance with internal controls, and support to due diligence and audit processes. The incumbent will work closely with the Finance Head and Tax Head to ensure that all accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial records reflect applicable accounting standards, tax positions, and regulatory requirements. While strategic direction on tax and controls will be set by senior leadership, this role is fully accountable for implementing those directions accurately and on time.

1. Accounting Accuracy & Financial Reporting

• Prepare and maintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable standards (Ind AS / IFRS / GAAP).

• Oversee and manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including reviewing journal entries and accounting schedules prepared by junior team members, and ensuring reconciliations are completed accurately and on time

• Ensure all accounting records are complete, well-documented, and audit-ready at all times.

• Review and action adjustments or reclassifications recommended by the Tax Head, Finance Head, or statutory auditors to ensure financial statements reflect the correct accounting treatment.

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure sub-ledger reconciliations are completed within defined timelines.

• Prepare supporting workings and schedules for financial disclosures and notes to accounts.

2. Compliance with Internal Controls & Tax Requirements

• Adhere to the internal control framework as defined and periodically updated.

• Implement accounting-related changes arising from tax positions or advisory issued by the Tax Team– including adjustments to TDS provisions, deferred tax, GST treatment, or transfer pricing entries.

• Ensure that accounting practices are aligned with tax compliance requirements, flagging any discrepancies or gaps to senior leadership for resolution.

• Support in implementing improvements to policies, SOPs, and internal controls as required.

• Coordinate with the tax team to ensure that all tax filings, assessments, and related accounting entries are consistent and accurately reflected.

3. Due Diligence & Data Room Support

• Support due diligence processes for fundraising, M&A, or strategic transactions by compiling and validating financial data.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Legal, HR, Operations, Tax) to collate required documentation during diligence exercises.

• Prepare financial workings, MIS summaries, and data packs requested by auditors, consultants, or transaction advisors.

• Maintain proper records of information shared during diligence, in line with confidentiality and data security requirements.

4. Audit & Statutory Compliance Support

• Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day interactions with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections.

• Prepare and submit audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents accurately and within agreed timelines.

• Track and close audit observations and queries.

5. Working Capital & Treasury Operations

• Monitor and report on cash flow, liquidity positions, and working capital requirements on a regular basis.

• Support treasury operations including bank reconciliations, fund transfer tracking, and maintenance of banking records.

• Flag any liquidity concerns or anomalies to the Finance Head on a timely basis.

Required Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) – qualified

• 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in accounting, audit, or finance roles.

• Prior experience in a technology, digital media, SaaS or adtech is preferred.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong working knowledge of Ind AS / IFRS and financial reporting standards.

• Ability to independently manage month-end close, reconciliations, and audit-readiness.

• High attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation and records management.

• Comfortable working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP Business One or equivalent).

• Strong coordination skills – ability to work effectively with Tax, Legal, HR, and Operations teams.

• Experience supporting due diligence or working with Virtual Data Rooms is an advantage.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within tight timelines.

• Good communication and presentation skills for internal stakeholder interactions.

• High degree of confidentiality and professional integrity.
