Inspector - Mechanical
We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Inspector - Mechanical to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Reporting to the Discipline Engineers, you will play a critical role in ensuring construction quality and compliance by conducting comprehensive site inspections, surveillance, and testing of mechanical construction activities. Working collaboratively with your assigned engineer, you will monitor and document all contractor activities to support quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and project success.
- Read, comprehend, and interpret package contract documents, detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and health and safety protocols, including all associated updates and amendments
- Conduct thorough site inspections and surveillance to verify contractor compliance with contract standards, specifications, and relevant mechanical codes through systematic observation, precise measurements, and rigorous testing
- Monitor and record contractor manpower, equipment, and daily resources to maintain accurate project documentation and resource tracking
- Perform site supervision and inspections as directed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE), ensuring consistent oversight of mechanical work
- Document all contractor activities within assigned areas, including personnel details, equipment used, activity locations, activity rationale, and construction methods and means employed
- Track material deliveries and implement site instructions issued by project leadership with precision and efficiency
- Apply and enforce all quality control procedures and quality assurance protocols established for the project site
- Prepare site measurements, surveying checks, and technical documentation as required by project leadership
- Monitor conformance to quality, performance, and code requirements through systematic inspection duties and comprehensive reporting
- Identify and report Health and Safety violations and non-conformances, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel
- Maintain organized, transparent, and detailed records of all inspections, tests, observations, and corrective actions taken
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or related mechanical discipline
- Minimum 8 years of overall experience in construction supervision and mechanical project inspection
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience working in the United Arab Emirates
- Proven experience with mechanical-type construction projects and systems
- Demonstrated expertise in construction quality assurance and compliance monitoring
- Strong knowledge of contract documents, technical drawings, specifications, and construction standards
- Proficiency in site inspection methodologies, testing procedures, and measurement techniques
- Excellent documentation and technical report writing skills
- Solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations and construction site safety protocols
- Experience working with consultancy firms on large-scale mechanical projects
- Familiarity with mechanical systems, HVAC, piping, and related equipment
- Knowledge of quality management systems and ISO standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for multicultural team environments
