Position Summary
The Instructional Facilitator supports the implementation of NOLA Public Schools’ instructional vision and district priorities for high-quality schools by strengthening Tier I instruction, supporting High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) implementation, and building leadership and teacher capacity across district-run schools and schools directly supported by NOLA Public Schools, including Local Education Agencies (LEAs).

The Instructional Facilitator works collaboratively with Executive Director of Teaching and Learning and LEA Services, principals, instructional leaders, teachers, and district teams to improve instructional coherence, strengthen data-driven instructional practices, support equitable student outcomes, and increase overall organizational effectiveness through continuous improvement systems that promote academic excellence and high-quality learning environments for all students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Instructional Leadership

  • Support implementation of instructional frameworks and assessment systems.

  • Monitor instructional effectiveness and curriculum fidelity across district-run schools.

  • Assist in the development and refinement of instructional resources and supports.

  • Support implementation of Tier I instructional systems aligned to High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM), Louisiana academic standards, and district instructional priorities.

  • Monitor instructional effectiveness, curriculum fidelity, and implementation of evidence-based instructional practices across district-run schools.

  • Support school leaders in strengthening instructional coherence, academic rigor, student discourse, and data-driven instructional planning.

  • Assist in the development, refinement, and implementation of instructional resources, assessment systems, and curriculum supports aligned to LDOE expectations.

Coaching & Professional Learning

  • Design and facilitate professional learning for teachers, instructional coaches, and school leaders.

  • Supervise and support district instructional coaches.

  • Provide coaching and feedback to school-based instructional leaders.

  • Design and facilitate professional learning aligned to the Louisiana Educator Rubric, Bulletin 130, district instructional priorities, and school improvement goals.

  • Provide instructional coaching and actionable feedback to teachers, instructional coaches, and school leaders to strengthen classroom practice and instructional leadership capacity.

  • Support school leaders in implementing coaching cycles, collaborative planning structures, walkthrough systems, and professional learning communities (PLCs).

  • Supervise and support district instructional coaches to ensure alignment, consistency, and effective implementation of instructional supports.

School Support & Improvement

  • Partner with principals to implement academic improvement strategies.

  • Support schools in achieving student performance goals.

  • Coordinate targeted instructional support for schools as needed.

  • Support the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning and LEA Services to partner with principals and instructional leadership teams to implement school improvement strategies aligned to district and state accountability priorities.

  • Support schools in strengthening Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), intervention systems, progress monitoring structures, and instructional response practices.

  • Coordinate differentiated instructional support for schools based on student achievement data, implementation needs, and accountability indicators.

  • Assist schools in monitoring progress toward academic goals and improving outcomes for historically underserved student groups.

Data & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze student achievement and instructional data to identify trends and inform decision-making.

  • Monitor academic performance indicators and recommend improvement strategies.

  • Prepare reports and presentations on instructional outcomes.

  • Analyze student achievement, subgroup performance, walkthrough data, and instructional implementation data to identify trends and inform continuous improvement efforts.

  • Support school leaders in using formative and summative assessment, benchmark assessment, progress monitoring, and instructional data to drive decision-making and improve student outcomes.

  • Assist in the development, coordination, and refinement of benchmark assessments, progress monitoring tools, and data collection systems aligned to district curriculum, state standards, and accountability expectations.

  • Monitor academic performance indicators and implementation benchmarks aligned to district and state accountability systems.

  • Support schools in analyzing assessment outcomes to identify instructional gaps, intervention needs, and opportunities for acceleration and enrichment.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and progress monitoring tools related to instructional outcomes, implementation fidelity, and school improvement efforts.

Performance Evaluation
The employee will be evaluated based on the above position using either two methods: via COMPASS/LEADS or a NOLA-PS evaluating instrument. If the employee holds an Educational Leadership certification, he/she will be evaluated via COMPASS/LEADS to ensure renewal of certification.
