Instrumentation Maintenance Technician
Summary
Maintain and calibrate inspection, measuring and test equipment to specifications. Assist in programing and modifying programmable logic controls (PLC’s). Order and install equipment needed for a specified production or technical tasks. Assist in programming and modifying a Distributed Control System. Responsibilities include maintaining a high awareness of quality, safety, and teamwork.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow all plant safety rules and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Support the running of the plant and the functions of the maintenance dept.
- Perform calibrations and keep accurate records of calibrations in the Quality Management System database.
- Participate in external and internal audits. Provide a competent source of information to inside and external audit interviews.
- Purchase calibration consumables and 3rd party calibrations as needed.
- Perform daily checks of process instrumentation and gauges to determine if readings are within specifications.
- Assist in modifying and helping write new quality procedures and documents.
Skills and Specifications
- Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical devices and control circuits.
- Ability to design and install electrical equipment in accordance with national electric code.
- Must be able to work (as required) with a PSM Process where Acrylonitrile is used. Employee will be properly trained, prior to accessing these areas per CFR 1910.1045 and CFA company training documents as determined by management.
- Must be willing to work hours and shifts necessary to support plant operations.

Education and Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Eight to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- This position involves working with technologies and information which are subject to U.S. export control regulations. Under these regulations, Toray CMA must review certain candidate information including citizenship, basis of United States work authorization and country of origin. This information would be used for export control screening purposes only.

Position requires the ability to read, write, speak and understand English at a level necessary to successfully perform assigned responsibilities. Ability to utilize/operate a computer, peripheral equipment and appropriate software. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Must be able to wear a full face respirator.
