Your role & work environment
Within the retail insurances department, we are on a crossroad. A crossroad that will re-define retail insurances within ING. The first steps already have been taken, but we are on the look-out for someone that can help us take the next steps in our department. We have huge ambitions and an amazing drive within the team to put our insurance products in the spotlight for our banking customers. To do so, we are looking for someone that already has a great background in finance and reporting processes within or outside ING.
Your key responsibilities
We are looking for a driven and experienced professional with a strong background in financial operations. In this role, you will functionally lead a small team of two colleagues responsible for the day-to-day execution of financial operational activities, ensuring continuity, quality, and control across processes.
In addition, you will drive the mapping of end-to-end financial flows and implement optimization layers aimed at reducing operational effort, increasing efficiency and demonstrate control effectiveness. You are able to bridge the gap between data, operations, and reporting, and translate complex financial and product-related challenges into practical improvements.
You bring solid financial and accounting expertise, combined with proven experience in improving financial operational processes. You are a strong stakeholder manager, capable of navigating a complex internal and external stakeholder landscape
- Working together with colleagues having different expertise in self-steering teams.
- Be the insurance finance expert in the team, gaining and sharing knowledge of the financial processes and data with the team.
- Ensuring seamless customer journeys that ensure the best possible online experience for our customers by providing your colleagues with thorough analysis based on data that you make available in the ING systems
- Implementing the strategy taking ING’s priorities and customer’s expectations into consideration.
- Managing the collaboration with our current and future internal stakeholders like Financial Accounting and Management Accounting.
- Define improvements in the current (manual) finance processes.

Furthermore, you have:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Background in Finance, accounting and data management experience
- Good analytical skills
- Proven planning & organizational skills
- Hands-on and pro-active mentality in order to structure elements
- Affinity with both risk and compliance related topics as well as IT related topics
- Fluent in Dutch and English
