INTERDISCIPLINARY (CHEMIST/MATERIALS ENGINEER)

You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY (CHEMIST/MATERIALS ENGINEER) in the MRO Engineering Department/Depot Support Team of FLTREADCEN EAST.

You will provide technical decisions and engineering dispositions, both oral and written, to the depot process shops in various areas to include inorganic coatings, welding, brazing, additive manufacturing, and/or protective coatings.

You will develop, assemble, and issue engineering instructions and determinations concerning materials engineering and associated processes related to repair of aircraft materials.

You will initiate, coordinate, attend, and direct program related meetings and conferences at this and other naval activities to resolve specific industrial support issues.

You will provide guidance and expert consultation essential to the efficient day-to-day efforts and progress of lower grade engineers, chemists, and technicians with emphasis on the less experienced engineers and chemists.

You will evaluate in-service process behavior and trends to take corrective actions. You will lead and participate in engineering projects designed to improve or qualify materials.
