Intern, Chingay Parade - Admin & Ops Support

[What the role is]

The goal of this role is to provide interns with hands-on experience in planning of large-scale event such as Chingay. Interns will be exposed in different areas, i.e. logistic, security, carpark management, vendor management and coordination of meetings etc at the end of internship.

[What you will be working on]

• Provide operations, secretariat & administrative support in areas pertaining to security and safe management measures, volunteer training and management, liaise with various stakeholders & contractors and transport management during the two days parade
• Assist with the coordination and management of Chingay Venue and its Holding Area
• Compilation of Security Screening Lists for security clearance and tabulation of data and work with SPF on the security clearance on actual parade days;
• To provide administrative support to the organizing committee and other sub committees;
• To coordinate, plan and execute the carpark operation on key rehearsal dates and main parade days;
• Assist with detailed barricade and security plans i.e. ticketing check points and spectator entry / exit points, Drink points, wet weather plans etc.
• Assist in preparing and planning of visuals, on-site branding, structures and parade route map.
• Assist in the packing and moving of logistics (water, ponchos, tables, chairs and others) and props, and conduct stock check after each rehearsal, fringe event and show days.
• Assist in site inspection and co-ordinates meetings to resolve issues pertaining to the works on site.
• Ensure smooth operations on key rehearsals and show days by devising and managing strategic operations plans, including but not limited to deployment of PA Staff and Volunteers, signage plan and logistics set up and deployment.
• Assist with any other operational duties when assigned for Chingay and its fringe events.

[What we are looking for]

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with strong soft skills such as communication and adaptability.
• Able to commit during rehearsals and key event dates that are held on weekends.
