Internal Systems Integration Engineer
This role will plan, coordinate, and execute SaaS configuration and platform integration projects in support of Shield’s internal teams.
This individual will serve as the primary technical resource for internal staff when they need business systems configured, connected, or migrated. They act as the liaison between requesting departments, the central IT team, and the SaaS/platform vendors involved—ensuring tools are stood up correctly, integrated cleanly into Shield’s standardized stack, and adopted smoothly by end users. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and detail-oriented—able to manage multiple concurrent requests while maintaining a focus on accuracy, timelines, and internal relationship-building.
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Integration & Configuration Management
• Serve as the technical lead for SaaS configuration and platform integration requests originating from internal teams.
• Develop and manage project plans, milestones, and timelines for standing up, connecting, or migrating internal tools.
• Conduct discovery sessions with requesting teams to assess existing processes, data sources, and system structures.
• Configure and integrate SaaS systems across internal functions—building connectors, API integrations, SSO, and data syncs as needed.
• Coordinate integrations and migrations across HR, finance, operations, and IT platforms.
Communication and Collaboration
• Facilitate cross-functional working sessions with HR, Finance, IT, and Operations to scope and prioritize requests.
• Provide status updates and documentation to requesting teams and IT leadership.
• Support change management and end-user enablement for newly configured or integrated tools.
• Serve as the key technical contact for internal stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of each request.
Process Optimization
• Identify opportunities to streamline the intake and delivery of configuration and integration requests.
• Standardize templates, runbooks, SOPs, and checklists for recurring configurations.
• Recommend process and technology enhancements to support future scalability.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Hands-on experience configuring and migrating SaaS systems.
• Ability to assess an internal team’s needs and current tooling, then determine the best path to configure or integrate it within Shield’s standardized platforms.
• Working familiarity with APIs, native connectors, SSO/identity, and iPaaS or workflow-automation tools.
• High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive company data.
