International E&P Negotiator/Lawyer
Job Activities
- Conduct legal research
- Prepare and update legal analyses and summaries
- Provide legal advice and support decision-making through risk assessment
- Analyze and interpret national and international legal and regulatory texts and contracts
- Advise on interpretation and application of legal texts
- Anticipate legal risks and propose optimized solutions
- Prepare, draft a wide range of agreements and contracts and monitor their implementation
- Imagine and create new agreements in response to new situations
- Treat independently the most complex cases of its specialty or sector
- Ensure legal certainty and optimization of given sector (area of law or industry)
- Participate in negotiations with subcontractors, service providers, partners, Governments and National Companies
- Advise and assist DGEP entities and E&P subsidiaries for the design of legally and economically adapted contractual schemes
- Design and propose to DGEP entities and E&P subsidiaries legal structures adapted to their environment, taking into account legal constraints and economic data
- Participate in the creation and development of these structures
- Provide the secretarial duties for Councils and Assemblies if necessary
- Advise and assist DGEP entities and subsidiaries in pre-litigation phases
- Advise and assist DGEP entities and E&P subsidiaries in litigation and lead the process of dispute resolution
- Manage the work and services of external legal counsels
- Contribute to improving skills and know-how
- Select external legal counsels, set / negotiate terms & conditions of their work
- Represent the Company to the highest level on legal matters
- Advise senior management
- Supervise, lead and manage projects
- Establish processes for developing and sharing expertise
Job Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Business Law. Additional trainings in tax/economics is a plus.
- More than 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Excellent level in International Business Law and Oil & Gas Law required
- Excellent analytical, writing and conceptual skills
- Strong negotiation skills
