Job Summary:
The International Transportation Sr. Analyst role is to support flow of orders and freight from origin points across the world to distribution facilities for Lowe's (In top 5 largest importers in the United States). This includes focus on cost and service by gathering, interpreting, and using complex data, analyzing methods, driving carrier performance, and developing actionable steps to optimize results and improve processes and capabilities for our International Transportation Supply Chain.
This individual is entrusted as a knowledgeable resource on international logistics and is responsible for coordinating with internal and external partners for continually identifying operational, service and process improvements in relation to customer experience enhancement in a cost-effective environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supports order/freight process flows and reviews data and metrics to enhance integrity and operational performance of international inbound supply chain operations
Negotiation and management of carrier and 3PL contracts, including Ocean, Drayage, Transload, etc.
Lead strategic reviews of origin operations KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs) to drive continuous improvement, reduce landed cost, and mitigate risk.
Identify and resolve complex supply chain challenges, communicating root causes and corrective actions across vendor, transportation, sourcing, and planning/inventory teams.
Leverage data and analytics to build dashboards, reporting tools, and automated alerts that enhance operational insights and drive origin process optimization.
Monitors and evaluates carrier/vendor performance through KPI metrics and reporting
Gathers and interprets data using analytics, leveraging collection systems, statistical techniques, and other strategies
Prepares and summarizes results and recommendations for use by various key stakeholders to enhance efficiency and flow
Develops actionable roadmaps for improving workflows and processes in line with company directives and in compliance with national and international regulations
Monitors/utilizes exception management for freight in the Supply Chain and takes any proactive action needed to accommodate that freight (movement, storage, etc.)
Assess market needs, provide forecasts for capacity and monitors availability to ensure uninterrupted flow of orders/freight
Assists in the nomination for Lowe’s preferred carriers
Works with large specialty programs and with the International Inbound Transportation Manager to assure success in delivering program freight prior to assigned deadlines
Manages allocation/utilization/equipment for all import service providers from origin to destination based upon service/demand percentage and within contract time parameters, while optimizing available assets and minimizing variance between forecasted and actual containers delivered
Maintains proper documentation for accessorial payment purposes; compiles, validates, addresses exceptions, and submits invoices for accessorial payments
Analyze and make recommendations to improve on-time delivery performance
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Preferable in Supply Chain, business management, computer science, mathematics, economics, or related field
Experience Required:
5+ years supply chain experience and 2+ years in an International Transportation operations role
Advanced knowledge of international transportation processes and practices
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities
Detail oriented with exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated self-starter with consistent drive to follow-up and follow through on key deliverables
Strong ability to communicate and interact with internal and external associates at all levels
Sound judgment and ability to make decisions balancing capacity, capability, service, and cost
Advanced technology skills across a wide range of programs including but not limited to: Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Power BI
Previous work in team settings with ability to work collaboratively and with a sense of urgency in fast paced environment with multiple competing priorities
Detail oriented with advanced problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience collecting, organizing, and disseminating abundant information accurately
Ability to present findings in a clear and concise way
Experience in the fields of transportation and/or related international supply chain
Demonstrated self-starter with consistent drive to follow up and follow through on key deliverables.
Strong ability to communicate and interact with internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with an importer, freight forwarder, and/or ocean carrier
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerBI or google tools
MBA or advanced degree
