About the Role

The Inventory & AP Junior Accountant (Senior Coordinator) supports the Inventory Senior Accountant in managing and improving One Acre Fund's global inventory accounting processes. This role assists in ensuring accurate accounting, reconciliation, and compliance with accounting standards. The Inventory & AP Junior Accountant will support the process improvements, system automation, and strategic initiatives to optimize both the inventory and Accounts Payable sections while also supporting the Inventory & AP Senior Accountant in coordinating stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

Accurate Inventory & AP Accounting

  • Own the monthly Inventory reconciliations process for all programs for the assigned countries of One Acre Fund operation;
  • Coordinate with the Global Supply chain & Accounting team to resolve open items in relation to accounts payable, to ensure accurate and timely resolution.
  • Support the accounting team with the monthly AP reconciliations process to ensure accurate and timely month-end books close

Lead or Support Project Improvements

  • Actively participate in projects aimed at improving AP Accounting & reporting accuracy and reducing the number of days required to close the books.
  • Identify process gaps within Inventory workflows and recommend practical, scalable solutions.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of project plans, timelines and approaches.
  • Coordinate with different stakeholders (e.g., finance, supply chain, logistics etc.) to ensure timely reporting

Provide support to other teams

  • Provide recurring data entry and accounting support to the Logistics, Procurement & Global Sourcing teams (across all countries of One Acre Fund operation)
  • Contribute to meetings and provide timely updates regarding project status, communicate finance needs, expectations & timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment on inventory- related transactions and accounting treatment.

Technical skills:

Knowledge:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related area
  • Knowledge of accounting principles with 2+ years of experience
  • Accurate data analysis
  • CPA, ACCA in progress (Intermediate level)
  • ERP Systems e.g SAP
