We presently have a full-time position for an Inventory Coordinator at our Elkmont, Alabama manufacturing plant. The position will report to the Purchasing Manager with a work schedule of 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with overtime as maybe required by the business needs of the operation. The inventory control coordinator position manages inventory through a database and maintaining levels required on a daily basis to meet distribution demands.
Responsibilities
KEY TASKS
- Enter production data into LN by processing shift Production sheets and/or Hour by Hour sheets.
- Enter Production data into Production database.
- Complete, Close, Scan, and Rename Production Orders.
- Create Adjustment Orders for Scrap and Inventory Control.
- Maintain Scrap Log and UAF Scrap Spreadsheet.
- Troubleshoot Quantity Discrepancies with Production, Quality, and Shipping/Receiving personnel.
- Prepare and Record Daily Reports such as Daily Hours and issue to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports for Cycle Counts and Pick List Counts for weekly/monthly highlights.
- Prepare for and Participate in any Physical Inventories and/or Cycle Counts.
- Research and Process Hold Tags and Maintain Hold Tag database.
- Process Material to Issue, Dormant WIP, maintain Deposit Log, and Journal Entries for weekly/monthly accounting purposes.
- Establish an open line of communication with each member of the team.
- Track Inventory throughout the plant.
- Track Dormant Inventory across the plant and provide feedback to management concerning areas of inefficiency.
- Compile morning reports for efficiency tracking.

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School or GED with focus on business/computer curriculum.
- Minimum of one year of inventory control experience.
- Good interactive people skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, management and/or individuals.
- Maintain a proactive not reactive approach to inventory.
- Team player who supports both management and production associates.
- Ability to apprise a situation and counsel team members accordingly.
- Basic knowledge of safe operating procedures.
- Basic understanding of accounting and budgeting concepts, time studies and standard rates.
- Continual improvement and development of personal and professional skills.
- Aspiration to continue education in Business or Accounting related field of study.
- Good typing and computer skills with the use of MicroSoft Word and Excel
PREFERRED:
- Preferred: Associate degree in business management or business administration and previous experience with inventory control.
