Investment Banking - EMEA Technology - Analyst – London

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated to work in a dynamic team and to contribute to our Investment Banking business.

The J.P Morgan Technology team is composed of a team of professionals with very strong client relationships across a broad range of leading companies in a wide range of Technology verticals, including Software, Internet and Fintech verticals among others.

As an Analyst within the Investment banking Technology team, you will be a pivotal player in the origination and execution of investment banking mandates across all major product areas. Your responsibilities include participating in the "full cycle" of transactional execution including preparing marketing pitches, reviewing and formulating financial analysis, preparing and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations for use in M&A, public or private capital markets transactions and strategic dialogue.

Job responsibilities

  • Perform detailed valuation analysis, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables and LBO analysis
  • Support daily deal execution and project management of clients
  • Prepare presentation books, management presentations, Board materials, Memorandums, and other presentation materials for use in corporate finance transactions or strategic client dialogue
  • Perform detailed combination, transaction structuring analysis and other financial analysis
  • Interact with senior team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to junior team members

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Relevant prior experience in investment banking as part of an M&A, country or sector coverage team, with a track record of assisting with executing M&A and capital markets transactions
  • Ability to comfortably interact with clients in-person and virtually in a professional and mature manner
  • Proven financial modelling/valuation skills and experience in working with corporate finance related topics
  • Ability to handle pressure whilst multitasking on numerous projects
  • High level of work ethic, comfortable working in a team environment and willing to coach junior team members with respect
  • High level of attention to detail and developed time management skills
  • Highly organized, detail orientated and proactive

This role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
