Your Opportunity

  • Under the general supervision of the Program Administrator, and under the guidance of the External Exam and Program Assistant, the Invigilator provides invigilation services for exams to students in a private (one-on-one) or group setting.
  • Functions and Duties

    1. Maintains strict adherence to policies and procedures governing examinations
    2. Sets up examination venues by ensuring the technology is operational
    3. Lays out equipment and examination materials are available
    4. Assists students prior to the start of examinations
    5. Checks attendance also ensures that students do not talk once inside the examination venue
    6. Responds to queries raised by students or refers students to an instructor, as appropriate
    7. Responds to examination irregularities in accordance with stated procedures, including monitoring, documenting, addressing and reporting violations of the College’s Academic Integrity Policy
    8. Ensures that students do not remove equipment or exam material from the examination venue without authorization
    9. Ensures that students leave the examination venue in an orderly and quiet manner
    10. Collects and collates examinations
    11. Performs other duties as assigned

    Education and Experience

  • 1 year post-secondary education preferred. 1-2 years related experience preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities


    - Understanding and commitment to maintaining appropriate standards of confidentiality and security of materials
    - Ability to work independently to deliver exams as per required guidelines and instructions
    - Effective communication skills, specifically, ability to read aloud clearly, with good pronunciation
    - Clear and accurate hand writing; technical competency to troubleshoot basic computer issues is preferred
