JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a technically versatile professional who sits at the intersection of data analysis and IT support. About half of your time will be spent on data-driven projects — building reports and dashboards, writing SQL queries, automating repetitive workflows, and helping the business make better decisions through data. However, when employees need technical support, you'll be the person they turn to.
This is not a traditional help desk role. If you've ever felt underutilized in a pure support position and wished you could spend more of your time building something meaningful with data, this role was designed for you.
JOB DUTIES:
Data & Analytics
- Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and/or Spotfire to support business decision-making across departments
- Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from company databases
- Develop Python scripts to automate repetitive business and IT processes, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy
- Manage and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility across systems
- Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows and implement solutions using Python, Power Automate, or similar tools
- Collaborate with department leaders to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable reports and visualizations
- Document data processes, query logic, and automation workflows for maintainability and knowledge transfer
IT Help Desk Support
- Serve as a point of contact for employee IT issues including hardware, software, email, connectivity, and account access
- Manage and resolve support tickets in a timely manner, maintaining a positive and patient experience for all employees
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes including device setup and account provisioning
- Escalate complex infrastructure issues to appropriate vendors or senior IT
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Proficiency in at least two of the following: SQL (querying and data analysis), Python, Power BI, Spotfire, or workflow automation tools
- Experience working with structured data — querying databases, cleaning datasets, or building reports
- Comfortable working cross-departmentally and managing your priorities
- Strong communication skills — able to explain data findings and technical issues to non-technical colleagues clearly and patiently
- Some experience providing technical support to end users, even if not in a formal help desk role
Preferred
- Experience with Power BI or Spotfire dashboard development
- Python scripting for automation, data processing, or reporting
- SQL querying for data extraction and analysis (not database administration)
- Familiarity with Power Automate or similar workflow automation platforms
- Help desk or IT support experience in a corporate environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with data governance or data quality management
- Familiarity with Azure Data Services, Google BigQuery, or similar cloud data platforms
- Any relevant certifications: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300), CompTIA A+, Google Data Analytics, or similar
Why This Role Is Different
Most data analyst roles don't want you touching anything IT-related. Most help desk roles don't let you anywhere near the data. This position gives you ownership of both — with the flexibility to grow your data and automation skills while staying connected to the practical, people-facing side of the business.
