IT Intern
Overview
This is an internship position designed to expose the employee to the information technology field for their continued learning, as well as assist the company in executing necessary tasks and projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with taking inventory of all equipment, software, and software licenses.
- Install, test, and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment, and software.
- Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images, and software.
- Create and manage users and computers in Active Directory.
- Assist with documenting internal procedures in the knowledge base.
- Help desk triage and escalation.
- Shadow/assist IT team members on help desk tickets and projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be currently attending an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or certification.
- Background in desktop support preferred but not required.
Skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities & daily workload according to project/assignment deadlines while meeting expectations of quality work.
- Ability to work independently as necessary.
Physical Requirments
- Frequently required to: sit for prolonged periods of time, reach for/manipulate standard office equipment, communicate with various staff and/or reach for and manipulate objects.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motion activities, such as typing, on a regular basis.
Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
- The employee may be regularly exposed to very dusty and noisy conditions.
- The employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
- The employee may be exposed to chemicals used in the milling and manufacturing processes.
