IT Project Service Manager

Project Delivery and Execution
Lead regional WMS implementation and migration projects from initiation to go-live, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, timeline, cost, and quality standards.
Translate portfolio priorities and project objectives into structured execution plans, milestones, and delivery commitments.
Proactively manage project risks, dependencies, issues, and escalations, ensuring timely intervention and sound decision-making.
Safeguard delivery quality across projects by maintaining visibility on progress, bottlenecks, deviations, and corrective actions.
Ensure project execution remains pragmatic and outcome-oriented, balancing standardization, customer needs, and operational feasibility.
People Leadership and Team Management
Lead and manage a team of functional and technical consultants and/or project-assigned specialists within the RIC structure.
Plan, allocate, and rebalance resources across projects in line with priorities, capacity, required competencies, and delivery commitments.
Drive performance, accountability, and behaviours aligned with a high-performing project delivery culture.
Provide coaching, regular feedback, performance evaluation input, and development guidance to team members.
Support capability development and succession readiness by identifying gaps in skills, experience, and role maturity across the team.
Portfolio, Demand, and Capacity Management
Maintain an up-to-date regional project pipeline, ensuring clear visibility on demand, status, capacity, and execution outlook.
Structure and translate incoming business demand from countries, business development, and regional stakeholders into realistic planning scenarios.
Align priorities, resource needs, sequencing, and delivery trade-offs with the Head of RIC NW.
Create transparency on project workload, consultant utilization, and execution constraints to support informed prioritization and governance decisions.
Contribute to regional planning cycles and master planning processes by ensuring project demand and delivery capacity are continuously aligned.
Collaboration with the WMS Architect
Work in close alignment with the WMS Architect to ensure solution designs are translated into executable, realistic, and controlled project delivery plans.
Safeguard the operational handover from architecture and design into implementation by ensuring the project team understands scope, dependencies, and design intent.
Identify delivery gaps, ambiguities, or execution risks arising from solution design and address them pragmatically together with the WMS Architect.
Step in where needed to maintain momentum, remove delivery obstacles, and protect project outcomes without undermining design governance.
Ensure design, delivery, and project governance remain connected throughout the project lifecycle.
Stakeholder and Partner Management
Act as the key regional IT counterpart for project execution towards country IT teams, business stakeholders, Business Development, Engineering, Group IT, and the BY Competence Center.
Build effective working relationships across countries and functions to ensure decisions are timely, expectations are aligned, and projects are executable.
Ensure clear governance and escalation paths for project topics requiring cross-functional decision-making or management attention.
Facilitate operational alignment between business expectations, solution direction, and delivery capability.
Represent the RIC project delivery perspective in regional and cross-functional discussions, ensuring transparency around capacity, risk, and execution readiness.
Migration and Transformation Delivery
Lead the execution of migrations from legacy or sunset systems towards target WMS platforms and related strategic applications.
Ensure migration projects are structured, repeatable, and adequately controlled across design, preparation, testing, cut-over, and stabilization phases.
Safeguard delivery readiness across systems, environments, data, interfaces, and team capabilities.
Drive predictability in transformation programmes by enforcing disciplined preparation, issue resolution, and execution follow-up.
Ensure that transitions contribute to a scalable future application landscape and do not create unnecessary local complexity or technical debt.
Governance, Standards, and Ways of Working
Ensure all projects follow agreed Rhenus governance principles, project methodologies, templates, and tooling standards (e.g. JIRA).
Promote disciplined project execution through structured planning, reporting, issue management, and decision documentation.
Drive consistent use of project controls, standard deliverables, and quality checkpoints across the regional portfolio.
Escalate major delivery risks, deviations, or structural constraints to the Head of RIC NW in a timely and fact-based manner.
Embed a project-driven and performance-oriented way of working across the delivery organisation.
Continuous Improvement and Value Orientation
Continuously improve delivery predictability, efficiency, and transparency across project services in the RIC.
Identify improvement opportunities in staffing, planning, governance, reporting, and delivery methods, and translate them into practical actions.
Contribute to the professionalization of the regional project services function by standardizing good practices and reducing ad hoc execution.
Work closely with project teams, architects, and stakeholders to improve the effectiveness and business value of implementation and migration activities.
Support the Head of RIC in monitoring key delivery indicators and identifying structural opportunities to increase value from project activities.
Support to Business Development and Pre-Project Activities
Support Business Development and relevant stakeholders in shaping feasible customer solutions and implementation approaches.
Provide delivery input on timelines, resource needs, implementation risks, and execution feasibility during pre-sales or project preparation phases.
Ensure proposed project approaches remain realistic, scalable, and aligned with available capabilities and standards.
Contribute to reliable delivery assumptions that strengthen customer proposals and reduce implementation uncertainty.

What You Bring:
Required Skills and Experience
University degree or equivalent experience in information technology, logistics, industrial engineering, or a related field.
5–10 years of experience in IT project delivery, preferably in WMS, logistics, warehouse automation, or complex application environments.
Proven experience in leading project teams and managing people, including allocation, coaching, and performance steering.
Strong track record in implementation, migration, transformation, or multi-site project environments.
Good understanding of the interaction between business processes, IT applications, integrations, and operational execution.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across business, IT, and management levels.
Experience operating within matrix organisations and multi-country delivery structures.
Pragmatic, structured, and able to maintain control under pressure while safeguarding outcomes.
Fluent in English; intercultural awareness and ability to work across countries and functions.
