This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), Central Operations (NCO), with 1 vacancy in College Park, MD. As an IT Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Develop and monitor Information Technology (IT) software related to environmental observations and services. Monitor all types of National Weather Service (NWS) infrastructure, to include numerous applications running on large computer systems. Ensure effective around-the-clock/24x7 operational support of the NWS switching system, domestic network, radar data dissemination, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Integrated Dissemination Program, and other operational distributed architecture systems. Maintain problem tracking and resolution systems, including the management of customer service performance requirements. Assist in operational testing and implementation in support of modernization and upgrade activities of NWS Central Operations.
