Job Title\: IT Strategy Specialist (Edgewing)
Location\: Reading area. The role could be contracted to any BAE Systems site (preferably Frimley) but on commencement will immediately be assigned to our Edgewing JV in the Reading area. A financial support package may be available to enable this assignment if required, dependent on certain criteria being met. Due to the nature of this assignment, we envisage there will be a need for mostly on site working, however, flexible working arrangements may be possible – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

You’re expected to have completed 12 months in role prior to applying for an advertised vacancy and you should also discuss the internal opportunity with your Line Manager to ensure sustained business continuity and to further support your career development.

Job Description\:
As an IT Strategy Specialist, you'll play a key role in shaping and evolving Edgewing’s digital information strategy. Working within the Tech Strategy & Enterprise Architecture team, you'll help assess emerging technologies, provide strategic insight and support the development of digital capabilities aligned to business priorities.
You'll collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to support strategic planning, governance activities and long-term technology direction.
Core duties\:
- Support the development and continuous improvement of the digital information strategy
- Assess emerging technologies and provide recommendations to support future digital capability
- Work with business and technology stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and alignment
- Apply enterprise architecture principles and technology analysis to support decision-making
- Contribute to governance activities and strategic planning across the technology landscape
Essential Skills\:
- Experience within technology strategy, enterprise architecture, digital transformation or business analysis environments
- Experience applying enterprise architecture principles, ideally using frameworks such as TOGAF
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly
- Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate technology trends and strategic impacts
