Joinery Subcontractor Coordinator
Roles and responsibilities:
- The Joinery Subcontractor Coordinator plays a vital role in our Planning department, responsible for managing and supporting our subcontracted joinery works.
- This role involves close collaboration with subcontractors, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of joinery projects.
- The coordinator will monitor production progress, provide planning and scheduling support, and maintain effective communication to achieve project goals.
- Monitor and report on subcontractor production progress, including regular site visits and progress reviews.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to align production activities with project schedules and milestones.
- Prepare and distribute weekly progress reports, highlighting key activities, delays, and recovery plans.
- Ensure timely availability of materials, drawings, and information to subcontractors.
- Actively follow up on production, material, and delivery commitments to meet project requirements.
- Identify and escalate risks related to subcontractor performance, quality, and resource constraints.
- Coordinate and track deliveries from subcontractors to VWI factories and project sites.
- Review and verify delivery notes and documentation for received materials and finished goods.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure subcontracted products meet quality standards.
- Maintain records of subcontracted quantities, completed works, and variations for billing and cost control.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or joinery industry, preferably in a coordination role.
- Strong knowledge of joinery processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Proficiency in using planning and scheduling software, as well as MS Office suite.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Willingness to travel for site visits and meetings as required.
- Valid driver's license and ability to commute to various project locations.
