Position Summary:
-The Publishing Operations team is responsible for coordination and operational management of transitions across the Research Publishing portfolio. This team performs operational coordination of all types of journal transitions in collaboration with other operational teams at Wiley transition implementation and tracking and other supporting activities. Within the team, the Journal Operations Coordinator supports the administration of journal transitions as well as BAU tasks supporting the Research Publishing goals of the portfolio.
-The main goal of the role is to assist the Portfolio Transitions Operations team with data management, coordination of operational tasks, and facilitating the processes and workflows involved in a successful transition. The successful candidate will reference detailed instructions and follow best practice to ensure tasks are completed accurately and consistently. Ability to assess requests for urgency and highlight opportunities in our processes is a key skill. The successful candidate will be driven to provide exceptional support with a friendly and helpful disposition, and will thrive in a collaborative, busy team that always seeks to exceed expectations.
-The Journal Operations Coordinator role is critical in the operational optimization and standardization of the Research Publishing business and works effectively across regional and team boundaries. The Journal Operations Coordinator reports to a Senior Manager within the Publishing Operations team, who has direct responsibility for the tasks and projects taken on by the Coordinator as well as the strategic direction of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Swiftly process transitionrequests in accordance with defined best practice according to communicated deadlines.
- Perform downstream activities, such as acronym and ISSN requestions, and product data gathering, as needed to centralize operational functions across the portfolio.
- Coordinate updates of title level data in central management information systems.
- Observe, review, and analyze processes to identify inefficiencies and areas where improvements could be made.
- Assist in efforts to implement programs across the Research business at scale that enhance our journal portfolios and reduce time and costs for the business.
- Assist with reporting needs at team and project levels. Will provide administrative support in any data audits as required.
We are looking for people who:
- Are detail focused and a quick and enthusiastic learner.
- Have an interest in journal publishing administration and operations.
- Have experience working within established processes with a moderate degree of supervision.
- Have experience using standard office systems, including Microsoft 360.
- Have previous experience (or interest in learning) working in Salesforce.
- Have an interest in learning how to work in our product data system, STEP.
- Are highly collaborative with good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Have excellent English language skills (spoken, written, and reading). Ability to communicate clearly with different audiences.
- Are a team player, someone who is personable and able to form relationships.
