Junior Brand Partnership Manager

Strategic Brand Relationship Management

  • Serve as the main liaison between Sports Direct Malaysia and assigned brands to ensure business alignment and brand consistency.
  • Assist the Head of Commercial in building strategic relationships with key brand partners, driving long-term collaboration and mutual growth.
  • Manage brand sell-in planning, business review schedules, and executive-level engagement.

Commercial & Brand Performance Management

  • Oversee brand performance management, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize sales, profitability, and inventory health (e.g., margin, contribution, stock cover weeks), negotiate with brands partner on marketing plans to drive additional sales when necessary.
  • Manage and regularly update brand trading terms, while tracking and collecting credit notes (CN) for promotional funding in coordination with the Buying team.
  • Regularly update brand’s scorecard to keep the leadership ship team on track on progress made on key brand’s metrics.

Commercial Negotiations & Business Planning

  • Assist the Head of Commercial on OTB (Open-to-Buy) planning to ensure alignment between company targets and brand forecasts.
  • Work with the internal legal team to ensure contracts are compliant with internal governance.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Track and analyze the brand performance measuring key metrics such as sales, contribution, margin and stock cover weeks.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on brand health, commercial outcomes, and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Collaborate in post-mortem reviews and planning cycles to drive continuous improvement in brand strategy and execution.
  • A degree is not essential, but applicants with a background in Fashion & Merchandising, Business Management, Marketing, Economics/Finance, or Supply Chain Management/Logistics are encouraged to apply.
  • 1+ year of work experience in brand management, retail buying, or strategic partnerships within the sports, lifestyle, or fashion sector (if no degree).
  • Experience in retail buying/merchandising, preferably in the sports retail industry, is desirable.
  • Strong analytical capability and comfort working with numbers.
  • Excellent communicator in both written and spoken English.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills across internal teams and external brand partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed retail environment with multiple priorities.
