Junior Engineer - Hydraulic Modeller

We are looking for a Hydraulic Modeller in Manila to support the delivery of hydraulic network modelling, urban drainage, flood risk and pollution reduction projects. The role is suited to an engineer or modeller with practical modelling, GIS, data analysis and reporting capability, working under the guidance of senior and principal modellers.

The successful candidate will help develop, update, verify and analyse hydraulic and drainage models, prepare clear technical outputs and contribute to integrated project delivery for international water clients.

Key responsibilities

Modelling and technical delivery

· Develop, update, calibrate and verify hydraulic network models using InfoWorks ICM or similar industry-standard software.

· Support catchment-level and local network assessments for foul, storm and combined sewer systems.

· Run model scenarios and analyse outputs including flood volumes, spill volumes, surcharge results, capacity constraints and network performance.

· Support model build and maintenance activities, including GIS data review, system checks, sub-catchment analysis, area take-off and asset validation.

· Prepare hydraulic layers, maps, model outputs and structured technical deliverables for review by senior staff.

Data, reporting and collaboration

· Review and interpret rainfall, flow monitoring, asset, GIS, SCADA, EDM, CCTV and survey data to support modelling assessments.

· Prepare technical notes, figures, maps and supporting documentation in clear English for project teams and client-facing reviewers.

· Work with engineers, planners, environmental specialists, GIS specialists and survey teams to deliver integrated hydraulic and drainage solutions.

· Contribute to modelling process improvement, standard workflows and consistent project documentation.

· Raise data gaps, model confidence issues, delivery risks and technical queries promptly for review.

· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, Hydrology, GIS, Geography or a related discipline.

· Relevant professional development, technical training or membership of a recognised engineering or water-related professional body would be beneficial.

Essential experience

· Experience in hydraulic , drainage, flood risk, hydrology, hydraulic modelling, GIS or related water infrastructure work.

· Working knowledge of hydraulic modelling software, preferably InfoWorks ICM.

· Ability to interpret GIS data, asset records, rainfall and flow monitoring data.

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing model inputs and outputs.

· Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.

· Ability to work collaboratively across time zones and follow agreed project standards, workflows and review processes.

Desirable experience

· Exposure to UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or other international water industry projects.

· Experience with flood risk assessment, CSO / SWO assessment, development impact assessment or hydraulic asset planning.

· Experience using QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo, InfoAsset, AutoCAD, MicroStation, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller Pro or similar tools.

· Awareness of water company modelling standards, integrated catchment planning, storm overflow reduction or drainage area planning.
