Junior Web Developer
Brainlabs is the media agency built to answer one question: what's actually driving profit? Founded in 2012 by Daniel Gilbert, we were built by engineers before we were a media agency. Today, 1,000+ Brainlabbers across five continents use our proprietary agents, built on 32 media tools and over 2,500 logged experiments, to help brands connect every channel they plan and buy to one thing: the bottom line.
Brainlabs is looking for a Junior Web Developer to join our Creative Studio team. As a Specialist, you will be a core technical anchor responsible for creating thoughtfully designed, technically robust, cross-platform digital display advertisements with advanced interactive capabilities. You will work to ensure the final product meets client expectations while adhering to industry standards and guidelines. In this role, you will directly support the Creative Studio team in fulfilling innovative production projects across our associated accounts, while maintaining an eye toward efficiency, automation, and expanding our digital ad products.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Reporting to the Associate Director, Creative & Technical Solutions, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are critical to the delivery of an exceptional service experience and a successful end-product:
- Responsible for front-end and back-end development of complex, interactive HTML5 advertisements.
- Participate in translating advertisement requirements into functional specifications/wireframes that are intuitive in their design and adaptable to clients' changing needs.
- Translate conceptual advanced API integrations and HTML5/CSS/JavaScript elements into working interactive components.
- Support the Creative Studio team in ongoing feature ideation, new product development, enhancements, and code maintenance.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive production tasks and introduce modern tooling that saves the team real time.
- Apply QA and debugging methods to ensure ads are functioning to spec and are released with a high-quality standard.
- Develop automation processes and test scripts that accelerate process improvements.
- Generate deliverables with high accuracy under tight timelines while being sufficiently organized to manage multiple divergent priorities.
- Share technical knowledge across the Creative Studio and broader internal teams, helping non-developers understand what's possible and why it matters.
- Maintain clear, up-to-date project documentation in Notion so that technical decisions, build specs, and process notes are accessible to the wider team.
WHO YOU ARE
- You're a programmer first, with a genuine eye for design.
- You are a natural problem solver, open to exploring new tech and modern development tools to build smarter and faster.
- You're forward-thinking: you anticipate where a project's technical requirements are heading and build for that, not just for what's in front of you today.
- You care about the details and take real pride in your output.
- You are a lifelong learner who is naturally curious about new digital products and ad formats.
- You excel in high-pressure situations and can effectively manage your time.
- You are an excellent communicator who can convey complex technical concepts in simple terms.
- You thrive in fast-moving team environments where priorities shift and adaptability is part of the job.
- You are diligent, disciplined, and hard-working.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY
- 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience with HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
- An efficiency-first mindset: someone who naturally looks to automate repetitive tasks and optimize workflows.
- Strong familiarity working with Adobe Creative products (Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Direct experience with API integrations (Databases, Google products, Weather).
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in computer science, technical/interactive development field, or equivalent professional experience.
- The ability to quickly learn new technical systems and make them work for you.
- Ability to follow precise production protocols without losing the ability to think on your feet.
- Impeccable organizational and time-management skills.
NICE TO HAVE
- AI-Assisted Efficiency: Experience using LLMs as an interactive coding partner (i.e. "vibe-coding" with Claude to rapidly scaffold templates, troubleshoot, or brainstorm code structures). You don't need to be an AI expert, just someone who knows how to use it to boost your output!
- Experience with Google products: Sheets, Drive, Docs, Gmail, Slides, Calendar.
- Experience with Python, Google Web Designer, Google Cloud, Realtime Databases, Doubleclick Studio, Coded animations (ie. GSAP, TweenMax).
- Possess a Google Ads Creative certification, Google Cloud certification, or related agency credentials.
- Direct experience in digital ad production in an advertising agency environment.
- Knowledge of the digital media landscape, including key technologies, platforms, and product guidelines.
