Your challenge
Lighting accounts for almost 20% of global electricity use and here at Signify we are focused on delivering unique sustainable value and energy efficient solutions to our customers and consumers.
With our outstanding range of products already available via a number of modern retail and consumer channels in Malaysia, we are now seeking a motivated and high performing Key Account Manager to join our team to help us drive this continued success.
Your responsibilities
Reporting directly to our Consumer channel, you will have ownership of significant key accounts. You will be responsible for:
Business Planning & Commercial Excellence
- Develop and execute annual customer business plans to achieve sales, profitability, and market share targets.
- Developing and executing sales strategies (inclusive of pricing and promotions) to drive profitable sales volumes and revenue growth
- Manage strategic Mass Modern Trade customers and assigned key accounts, develop new accounts for Mass Modern Trade as well as Branded Retail channel.
- Lead commercial negotiations covering annual agreements, promotional investments, pricing, assortment, and trade terms.
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within customer organizations.
- Conduct regular business reviews and identify opportunities to accelerate growth
- Competitor analysis and developing a deep understanding of the industry landscape to assist in spearheading the growth of categories within key accounts
- Actively contributing to the team to improve processes and building a strong team spirit
Business Planning & Commercial Excellence
- Drive forecasting accuracy, inventory management, and demand planning in collaboration with Supply Chain and Operations teams.
- Analyze customer performance, market trends, and competitive activities to develop actionable growth strategies.
- Monitor ROI on trade investments and promotional activities.
- Ensure disciplined execution of account plans and sales fundamentals.
Branded Retail Channel Development
- Develop and execute the strategy for expanding the branded retail channel.
- Identify and recruit suitable channel partners to establish branded retail touchpoints.
- Define commercial models, operating standards, and performance metrics for the channel.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Retail Excellence teams to enhance brand visibility and customer experience.
- Drive channel productivity, profitability, and long-term sustainability.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work closely with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Trade Marketing teams to deliver customer commitments.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and business performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, commercial governance, and trade investment guidelines

We are looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Key Account Management, Modern Trade Sales, or Commercial Management.
- Proven experience managing large Mass Modern Trade chains and national retail accounts.
- Experience in FMCG, Consumer Durables, Consumer Electronics, Home Improvement, or related industries preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in customer negotiations, joint business planning, and commercial strategy development.
- Experience in channel development, retail expansion, or branded retail concepts is an added advantage.
- Ability to travel frequently to customer sites and stores
