Kitchen Assistant

The Chi chapter of Tri Delta at the University of Mississippi is actively looking for a Kitchen Assistant to assist with all of our chapter meal preparation and maintenance of the kitchen to create a premier living and dining experience for Tri Delta's members.

The ideal candidate will be an eager waiter or restaurant staff member who is highly self-motivated with great attention to detail. The role will be responsible for helping prepare the evening meal service while keeping the kitchen clean and washing dishes.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Kitchen Management
    • Promptly notify the supervisor and/or house director of any maintenance problems or unsafe conditions in or around the kitchen
    • Properly care for supplies and leftovers
    • Assist in meal preparation
    • Assist in checking and the storage of food and supplies that are delivered to the chapter
    • Notify supervisor and/or house director of any accidents or injuries while on duty, immediately
  • Cleaning & Sanitation
    • Assist in cleaning kitchen supplies and utensils
    • Assist in taking out trash daily
    • Assist in washing dishes after each meal
    • Assist in cleaning the kitchen daily
  • Administrative/General Responsibilities
    • Observe kitchen and chapter rules, as determined by the chapter and house director
    • Refrain from the use of alcohol or drugs in and around the chapter territory
    • Maintain a professional relationship with all chapter members and residents, employees, and volunteers
    • Perform general duties as assigned
