Role Summary:
Supports and optimizes laboratory operations through implementation and maintenance of laboratory applications. Partners with lab leadership to improve workflows, ensure system adoption, and maintain compliance.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, onsite
  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • No on-call

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MLS, Biology, Chemistry, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of laboratory experience
  • Epic proficiency required
  • Relevant ASCP/AMT/AAB certification (MLS, MLT, MT, or specialty certification)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as subject matter expert for lab applications (Epic required)
  • Analyze workflows and implement system improvements
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot applications
  • Train staff and support ongoing operations
  • Ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, CLIA)
  • Collaborate with IT, Epic, and lab teams

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with laboratory leaders to evaluate current workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and position LIS solutions
    effectively.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on laboratory applications, with deep knowledge of system capabilities, technical features,
    and clinical relevance.
  • Leads on-site and virtual demonstrations, workflow assessments, and training sessions tailored to various laboratory use
    cases.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure customer success from initial
    engagement through full implementation.
  • Configures, customizes, and maintains laboratory applications, including user access management and system troubleshooting.
  • Ensures data accuracy, integrity, and security within the application, including validation, reporting, and compliance with data
    governance standards.
  • Analyzes laboratory workflows to identify inefficiencies and develop strategies to streamline operations and enhance
    productivity.
  • Trains laboratory staff on effective use of the application, provides ongoing support, and develops comprehensive training
    materials.
  • Gather and analyzes data related to compliance performance metrics, communicating findings to key stakeholders.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA, CLIA, and other applicable guidelines.
  • Acts as a liaison between IT, Epic, laboratory operations, and vendors to resolve issues and support continuous improvement
    initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biology or Chemistry or equivalent years of experience and education

EXPERIENCE

  • Two years' technical experience in a laboratory setting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
