The Lab Assistant \- Academic Planning & Assistance is a vital, dual\-role position combining

academic support within the studio/media production field with non\-academic
<\/div>
responsibilities focused on the operation, maintenance, and output of the college's studio
<\/div>
facilities. The successful candidate will be proficient in both instruction/student support and
<\/div>
professional media production workflows.
<\/div>
Reporting Structure
<\/div>
Reports to: Head of Department (HOD), Media Science
<\/div>
Key Responsibilities
<\/div>
The duties are categorized into three main areas: Academic assistance, Studio Operations &
<\/div>
Maintenance, and Event & Administrative Support.
<\/div>
I. Academic Planning & Assistance
<\/div>
● Teaching/Instructional Support: Conduct practical classes, workshops, and lab
<\/div>
sessions as required, focusing on media production equipment, software, and
<\/div>
techniques (e.g., camera operation, lighting, audio recording, editing).
<\/div>
● Faculty Assistance: Provide comprehensive technical and logistical assistance to
<\/div>
faculty members during lecture, theory, and practical classes.
<\/div>
● Student Project Support: Offer expert technical guidance, assistance, and
<\/div>
resources to students undertaking academic projects, dissertations, and assignments
<\/div>
related to media production.
<\/div>
II. Studio Operations & Maintenance
<\/div>
● Equipment Management: Perform routine and preventative maintenance, calibration,
<\/div>
and troubleshooting of all Inspiria studio equipment, including cameras, audio gear,
<\/div>
lighting systems, and computing hardware. Ensure all equipment is organized,
<\/div>
inventoried, and in functional condition.
<\/div>
● Recording Support: Act as a key crew member (e.g., Camera Operator, Audio
<\/div>
Engineer, Lighting Assistant) to assist with video shooting and audio recording sessions
<\/div>
for college\-related content.
<\/div>
● Post\-Production: Execute the complete post\-production workflow for college
<\/div>
content, including major outputs like Inspiria TV.
<\/div>

<\/div>
● Specialized Content Production: Execute video shoot and post\-production for
<\/div>
various specialized formats, including Podcasts, talk shows, Demo classes,
<\/div>
Webinars, and other institutional content.
<\/div>
III. Event & Administrative Support
<\/div>
● Event Coverage: Actively assist the video coverage team by shooting and/or editing
<\/div>
content for events held both inside and outside of the college campus.
<\/div>
● Documentation/Admin: Generate and manage certificates for various departments as
<\/div>
needed.
<\/div><\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>
Essential Qualifications & Skill Set
<\/div>
● Educational Background: A Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mass Communication, Media
<\/div>
Studies, Film Production, or a related field.
<\/div>
● Technical Proficiency: Mandatory and high proficiency in the Adobe Creative
<\/div>
Cloud suite, specifically:
<\/div>
○ Adobe Photoshop
<\/div>
○ Adobe Lightroom
<\/div>
○ Adobe Premiere Pro
<\/div>
○ Adobe After Effects,etc.,
<\/div>
○ DaVinci Resolve (or equivalent professional video/color grading software)
<\/div>
● Practical Experience: Proven experience in operating professional video/DSLR
<\/div>
cameras, audio recording devices, and studio lighting setups.
<\/div>
● Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication
<\/div>
skills, and the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
<\/div><\/span>
