lab Chemist

  • Responsible for the proper Calibration of all instruments in the laboratory
  • Identifies all samples received from production to conduct physical analyses & Chemical analysis for the semifinal and final product.
  • Ensure proper sampling is taken place by the production team
  • Conducts analysis for raw materials, sterilized molasses, creams, final products, etc., in addition to market samples according to Lint test methods
  • Prepare all chemicals needed for lab analysis for laboratory and production.
  • Analyzes WWT and boiler water, chiller water, and cooling tower water. Analysis includes COD, POD, PH, conductivity, and free chlorine.
  • Testing Boilers and boiler lines for conductivity, TDS, PH, hardness, iron, and sulfite for boilers only
  • Conducts tests for cooling towers and chillers, tests include free chlorine, TDS, PH, Iron, and hardness.
  • Record and report the analysis results for chemical/ physical analysis and document all carried out analyses
  • Communicate all Out of Specs results to the Lab chief
  • Conduct analysis of interlap tests and repeatability tests

Education: Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Special Chemistry, or Chemistry/Microbiology from a Faculty of Science.

Experience: 0–2 years of professional experience in a laboratory environment. Recent graduates with relevant academic training are encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in chemical and physical analysis methodologies with strong attention to detail in instrument calibration and sample analysis
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills with the ability to report analytical results clearly
  • Ability to work collaboratively with laboratory and production teams whilst maintaining accurate records and adhering to laboratory protocols
  • Reliability and professional conduct in a regulated laboratory environment
