Laboratory Assistant (Morwell, VIC)
Reporting to the Regional Victoria Operations Manager, this casual position will provide practical support to the Senior Laboratory Technician and broader Morwell laboratory team. The role will generally involve regular weekday shifts across three days, during standard business hours, with the opportunity for additional shifts at the start or end of the week during busier periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with laboratory analysis in line with SGS methods, procedures and quality requirements.
- Support sample receipt, bottle preparation, testing activities and general laboratory workflow.
- Help the Senior Laboratory Technician manage workload and provide support across other areas as required.
- Perform quality control checks, instrument calibrations and accurate record keeping.
- Assist with sample pick-ups and drop-offs for key clients when required.
- Maintain a safe, organised and compliant working environment by following SGS quality, health, safety and environmental procedures.
About You
- Previous experience in a laboratory environment is desirable, but not essential.
- You are organised, reliable and comfortable working as part of a team.
- You have good attention to detail and can record information clearly and accurately.
- You communicate well and take a proactive approach to supporting others.
- You can understand and follow technical procedures, safety requirements and quality processes.
- A valid Victorian full driver’s licence is required.
