Laminator
A Laminator is responsible for the majority of the laminating process. They are responsible for countertop fabrication and all other laminate and veneer cladding.
Expectations|
- Ability to fabricate countertops from start to finish.
- Understand and identify laminate colors and grades.
- Complex understanding of the lamination process.
- Strong understanding of tooling and router bits.
- Ability to cut sheets to achieve the highest yield possible.
- Understand adhesives and solvents and when to use different types.
- Understand spray patterns
- Understand your surroundings
- Recognize the need for a clean debris free work area.
- Manage waste with labels and organization
- Identify defects that will transfer through laminate and correct them prior to lamination
- Review shop drawings to identify grain direction, seam locations and joint types.
- Be able to identify the correct construction methods to conform with quality standards.
- Review final field assembly of low walls and reception desk to know where to laminate.
- Prep laminate for field application.
- Communicate task progress daily with shop foreman.
In order to advance all expectations must be met by the employee and qualified by a peer and a supervisor.
