Language Expert - Thai
- Translation of Apple products into Thai.
- Utilizing internal tools to identify changes with localization impact.
- Bug monitoring, reporting and resolution.
- Working with cross-functional groups to ensure the process runs smoothly and on schedule.
- Ensuring terminology consistency across all Apple products and services for the Thai market.
- Assisting with quick-turnaround translations.
- Identifying tools and process enhancements.
- Using unreleased software to check localization.
- Maintaining style guides and language glossaries.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation, Culture & Literature and equivalent
Native or accredited fluency in Thai to support the Thai-speaking market.
Fluent in English to do the translation from English to Thai and vice versa.
Experience with CAT tools and in translation of UI for high-end software products.
Excellent writing skills, partnership and interpersonal communication skills.
Large vocabulary, literacy, and cross-cultural knowledge.
Current and direct exposure to Thai culture over a sustained period of time.
Knowledgeable in and critical to multilingual and multicultural issues.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in managing language specific style guides and glossaries.
Experience with localization and internationalization.
Excellent UX writing skills and experience.
Experience in localizing Apple product content.
Excellent knowledge of structural aspects of the language (syntax, semantics, phonology, phonetics).
Experience in natural language processing and computational linguistics.
Experience with a programming language.
Localization project management experience.
QA experience.
