Lateral Recruiting Manager

Based in New York or Washington D.C., the Lateral Recruiting Manager will support lateral attorney recruiting across the firm. The role will analyze needs, monitor all of our office markets, and serve as a direct advisor to our practice group leaders as we build our firmwide practice resources and pipelines. Qualified candidates should have experience with lateral attorney recruiting, must exhibit professionalism in all interactions (at all levels), and must have an interest in creative and novel approaches to cross-geography recruiting and staffing.
This role reports to the New York Director of Recruiting, works closely with our Chief Recruiting Officer, and will oversee our Lateral Recruiting Coordinator.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing, launching, and executing national hiring plans and processes for key practice groups, monitoring needs, advising practice group leaders and sourcing/screening and creating interview schedules for qualified candidates.
- Organizing and driving lateral hiring logistics on a national level through:
- Standardizing offer processes and paperwork.
- Generating ad hoc reports.
- Collaborating with practice group co-chairs and managers to identify needs, preferred candidate profiles, novel assessment strategies, and success metrics.
- Overseeing and promoting existing openings.
- Monitoring candidate onboarding, integration, productivity, and performance.
- Other tasks/workstreams as needed/identified.
- Driving sourcing efforts, interviewing, and hiring processes for certain non-associate positions, including staff attorneys and visiting attorneys (referred and through job fairs).
- Overseeing all hiring processes, including interview scheduling and onboarding, for specific practices as needed.
- Exploring innovative avenues and means for promoting our career opportunities.
- Compiling market data and analyzing internal hiring and compensation trends.
- Engaging with search firms on a national and local basis, identifying and promoting key partnerships to satisfy acute and perennial needs and monitoring search firm fee agreement execution and compliance.
- Participating in broader legal recruiting community through local legal professionals group and NALP.
- Supporting Chief Recruiting Officer by planning and generating reports, initiatives, and other content for stakeholder meetings.
- Maintaining pulse of competitive landscape and market trends and driving initiatives accordingly.
- Collaborating with Lateral Partner Recruiting Department to anticipate associate and of counsel needs in conjunction with partner hires.
- Tracking onboarding process and notifications, including conflicts clearance, reference checks, and background verifications.
- Managing Lateral Recruiting Coordinator by delegating tasks, monitoring execution, and providing support and mentorship.
Qualifications:
- Ideal candidate must have initiative, ability to multitask and prioritize under tight deadlines.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle high volume, and be a team player.
- They must also exhibit good judgment and be detail oriented.
Experience:
- A four-year college degree is required.
- 5+ years of legal recruiting experience, preferably in a large, national or international law firm environment.
- Experience with an applicant tracking software (preferably ViRecruit) is preferred
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Excel is a must.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $150-175k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
